Legendary rockers Metallica bring their World Magnetic Tour to the St. Pete Times Forum Saturday, October 3, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. Tickets go on sale Saturday, April 4 at 10 a.m., the same day the group will be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, Ohio.

This concert will be “in the round,” featuring a stage in the center of the floor. Tickets on the floor will be general admission and the remainder of the house will be reserved seating.

The band has been touring to sold out crowds across the U.S. and the World since the release of last year’s Death Magnetic album. Last Friday, March 20, they delighted fans with a surprise appearance at Austin’s Stubb’s BBQ, a 2,100 capacity club, as part of the South by Southwest showcase for up and coming bands.

But with 50 million albums sold, Metallica definitely does not need to be discovered. Since the band’s inception, Metallica has evolved into one of the greatest metal bands ever, a household name, and the seventh-biggest selling act in American history. Earlier this year they received their eighth Grammy Award (for Best Metal Performance for Death Magnetic’s “My Apocalypse”), and this month will see the release of the Metallica Guitar Hero game as well as the release of The Complete Metallica, a discography box set, featuring 163 tracks.

Tickets for this event go on sale Saturday, April 4th at 10am at the MCDONALD’S BOX OFFICE at the St. Pete Times Forum and all Ticketmaster Outlets including FYE.
