STORM IN THE AFL HALL OF FAME

"CITY OF CHAMPIONS"
                   Tampa Bay Storm History

Tampa Bay Sports teams have accomplished an unimaginable feat -- winning three professional sports championships in just 18 months. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers brought home the Vince Lombardi Trophy from Super Bowl XXXVII in January 2003 and the Tampa Bay Storm won ArenaBowl XVII in June 2003, making Tampa the first and only city ever to win the National Football League and the Arena Football League championships in the same year. Then, the NHL's Tampa Bay Lightning won the Stanley Cup in June 2004 for a sports trifecta. The atmosphere in Tampa Bay is sizzling with electricity since this latest win and the city is now being referred to as "Title Town" and the "City of Champions".

The Tampa Bay Storm is the flagship franchise of the Arena Football League. The Storm hold AFL records for ArenaBowl victories, having won championships in 1991, 1993, 1995, 1996, and 2003. The Storm keep the football action going throughout the spring and into the summer, starting their season in late January immediately following the NFL season. The Storm play in the St. Pete Times Forum on Tampa's downtown waterfront, which is also home to the National Hockey League's Tampa Bay Lightning.
