Lingerie Football League, LLC. (LFL) and Tampa Breeze officials are excited to announce the return of LFL Football to the St. Pete Times Forum. LFL, Friday Night Football at the Times Forum, will feature 7-on-7 full-contact tackle football played by some of America's most athletic and attractive 'Gridiron Goddesses' on Friday nights. It’s truly the ultimate form of 'Fantasy Football.”
The LFL and the Tampa Breeze are set to play their third season of football at the St. Pete Times Forum, and all games will be broadcast LIVE nationally on MTV Networks' MTV2 channel, as well as in 3D at select Tampa movie theatres. There is certainly reason for excitement amongst Breeze Nation, as its team improved by clinching a spot in the 2010 LFL Playoffs. With playoff experience behind them, the Breeze hope to earn a spot in the annual LFL championship Lingerie Bowl, which will be held this year on Super Bowl Sunday.
The 2011 – 2012 Breeze rosters will include a number of veterans led by 2009 Defensive Player of the Year Liz Gorman, as well as rookie sensations at wide receiver in Bryn Renda and Saige Steinmetz and quarterback KK Mattheny.
In simply two seasons, the LFL has become the fastest growing professional sports league (as per BUSINESSWEEK) drawing sell-out crowds, second in Primetime national television ratings and aggressive expansion including five (5) 2011 expansion markets to include Cleveland, Las Vegas, Green Bay, Minnesota and Toronto. In comparison to the Ultimate Fight Championship (UFC) or World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) through its first two seasons of operation, the LFL has achieved far more growth and business prosperity in the same period.
