TAMPA BAY- The Lingerie Football League’s Tampa Breeze will return to the St. Pete Times Forum for its home opener on Friday, October 21 at 10:00 p.m. for a matchup against the Cleveland Crush. The final home game of the season will be held against the Orlando Fantasy on Friday, December 30 at 10:00 p.m. Both game times were moved back one hour to accommodate MTV Networks MTV2 live television broadcast.
The LFL and the Tampa Breeze are set to play their third season of football at the St. Pete Times Forum, and all games can be seen in 3D at select Tampa movie theatres. There is certainly reason for excitement amongst the Breeze Nation, as its team improved by clinching a spot in the 2010 LFL Playoffs. With playoff experience behind them, the Breeze hope to earn a spot in the annual LFL championship Lingerie Bowl, which will be held this year on Super Bowl Sunday.
The 2011 – 2012 Breeze rosters will include a number of veterans led by 2009 Defensive Player of the Year Liz Gorman, as well as rookie sensations at wide receiver in Bryn Renda and Saige Steinmetz and quarterback KK Mattheny.
In simply two seasons, the LFL has become the fastest growing professional sports league (as per BUSINESSWEEK) drawing sell-out crowds, second in Primetime national television ratings and aggressive expansion including five (5) 2011 expansion markets to include Cleveland, Las Vegas, Green Bay, Minnesota and Toronto.
