A veteran of broadcasting professional hockey for the past 28 seasons, Rick Peckham returns to the broadcast booth in 2005-06 for his 11th year as the play-by-play announcer for the Tampa Bay Lightning on Sun Sports. The 1977 graduate of Kent State University with a B.A. in telecommunications had been the play-by-play announcer for Hartford Whalers games on Sports Channel New England from 1984 through 1995 and was part of the New England Emmy-award winning live sports production team in 1993. Peckham has also broadcast NHL action on Sports Channel America (1988-92) and ESPN (1987-88) and he called games on both television and radio for the American Hockey League’s Rochester Americans from 1977-84. He also has served as play-by-play announcer for Arena Football’s Tampa Bay Storm (1997 - 02, 2005), NFL and NBA telecasts for ESPN International (1995), Sports Channel America College Basketball (1991-95) and University of Hartford basketball (1986-87).

Television analyst Bobby Taylor returns for his
13th year with the Lightning broadcast team. "The Chief" is in his 30th season as an NHL analyst, having joined the Lightning following 17 years as a color analyst for the Philadelphia Flyers starting in 1976. While in Philadelphia, Taylor held the analyst position in both television and radio. In addition, Taylor has worked the 1995, 1997, 1998 and 1999 Stanley Cup Playoffs on ESPN2. A native of Calgary, Alberta, Taylor played five NHL seasons as a goaltender with Philadelphia and Pittsburgh and helped the Flyers to the 1974 and 1975 Stanley Cup Championships. Additionally, Taylor possesses a degree in marketing, having graduated from Seattle University in 1973.

Broadcasting veteran Paul Kennedy returns for his third year as host and rinkside reporter for all Lightning games on Sun Sports after returning to hockey in 2003-04. Kennedy’s history with the Lightning can be traced back to Day 1, when he served as host of Sun Sports NHL Expansion Draft coverage in 1992 as the Lightning welcomed the likes of Brian Bradley and John Tucker. He also served as the Lightning’s pre-game host for the franchise’s first two seasons. Kennedy is Sun Sports Network’s sports director and primary host and play-by-play announcer. Since joining the regional sports network at its inception in 1988, Kennedy has called the action on numerous local, regional and national sporting events, making him one of the most well-known and respected sports talents in Florida. In 2000, the National Sportscasters and Sportswriters Association (NSSA) named Kennedy "Florida Sportscaster of the Year."
